The Palisades Park Fire Department Band

The Palisades Park Fire Department Band was founded in 1950 – then consisting of all firemen.  In the early years, a fireman had to pull a fire truck out of a bay to provide space for the rehearsals.  Our repertoire has always been challenging, including the traditional marches of  Sousa, Fillmore, King, and the like.  Our concert band incorporates a diverse range of music, sure to appeal to audiences of all ages.  Currantly, we perform all concerts in collaboration with the Mag 7 Pipes and Drums.  (www.mag7.com)
Over the past 58 years, the band's membership has changed.  We have become a regional concert and marching band consisting of adult members as well as college and high school muscians from all across northern New Jersey.
The band performs approximately 16 parades and 8 concerts annually.  A few of our highlights is playing for the anniversary  celebration of the Statue of Liberty each year on Liberty Island as well as performing for the New Jersey State Fair in Augusta.  The Band has received many trophies for best performing band including 21 first place awards in the Ridgewood 4th of July parade.
Our membership consists of a diverse group of  musicians and is open to everyone.  The parade and concert ensemble ranges from 18 to 45 wind players and percussionists.
